**Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,**

Greetings in the name of the Spirit of Christ!

This weekend is the third most important event on the Christian calendar. It is Pentecost. Pentecost is the day that the Holy Spirit descended on the first 120 disciples of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem almost 2000 years ago. It is the day the church was born.

However, we don’t celebrate Pentecost for what happened two thousand years ago. We celebrate the fact that we too have been imbued with the Spirit of God, who has come to dwell inside of us, such that we now share in God’s divine nature, even as humans.

Because we share in the divine nature, God has now adopted us as his very own children, alongside his only begotten Son Jesus, and no longer sees us just as his creation. We are HIS children. And now that we are children of God, it means “we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” (Rom. 8:17 NIV)

This is one of the most astounding verses in the Bible! By receiving the Holy Spirit, we, as simple humans, made of dust, prone to death and decay, have been brought into the corridors of heaven, and have been made co-owners of the universe with Christ. This is mind-boggling! Let your mind be boggled this weekend as we celebrate Pentecost. Happy Pentecost!

My prayer for this week is that we may all come to appreciate the depths, the height, and the width of the salvation we have received from the Father, through Jesus and the Spirit. Amen!

Registration for the National Women’s Retreat 2025 is now open. The retreat will take place in Polokwane, Limpopo at the Silver Exclusive Lodge. The cost per person is R2000 sharing, and R2400 single room (non-sharing).

Applications for SEP 2025 are open. The closing date for applications is 21 September 2025. A non-refundable deposit of R600 is payable by 30 September 2025. The balance is payable by 31 October.
