Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of the King of kings, Jesus the Christ.

This Sunday we celebrate Christ the King Sunday, which is the final Sunday of the Christian calendar. It is a moment set aside for the Church to contemplate one of the most profound truths about Jesus: He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus is repeatedly called “Son of David,” a title that proclaims His royal identity and His rightful claim to the throne of King David. The wise men travelled from the East because a King had been born. Even at the crucifixion, the Roman inscription above His head declared, perhaps more truthfully than they realised: “This is the King of the Jews” (Luk. 23:38).

Yet His reign is far greater than that of Israel alone. Scripture lifts our eyes higher—far higher. He is King of the whole world. King of the universe. King of all creation—seen and unseen.

As Paul writes, “For in him all things were created… whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities” (Col. 1:16).

This week we reflect on what it means to follow such a King. Our earthly ideas of kingship are often shaped by images of rulers we see in the world. The ones who demand loyalty, taxes, service, and even sacrifice. In human kingdoms, subjects often die for the king.

But Jesus is a radically different kind of King. He died for His people instead of requiring them to die for Him. He washed His disciples’ feet instead of demanding their service.

He shares His throne with us. Paul says “we are seated with Him in the heavenly realms” (Eph. 2:6). Jesus redefines kingship. He shows us that true power is the power to serve. Authority is not a privilege to be enjoyed, but a responsibility to be poured out for the good of others.

My prayer for you this week is that we may all embrace the culture of Jesus’ Kingdom—a Kingdom where greatness is demonstrated through service, where leadership is expressed through humility, and where love is the highest law. May Christ our King shape our culture and our actions as we follow His example. Amen!

Offerings: Please continue to pray for the offerings and needs of the church as we count down to the end of 2025. Income is still below budget.

Regional Leadership Conference – 5 – 7 December 2025

We are pleased to announce a Special Regional Leadership Conference taking place from 5 to 7 December 2025 at Aruka.
