Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

“We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of FAITH and labor of LOVE and steadfastness of HOPE in our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thess. 1:2–3)

As we are in the last quarter of 2026, it is a good moment to pause, give thanks for all God has done this year, and look ahead with expectation to what He will do in the weeks to come. As we journey toward Vision 2027 and beyond, to become a Healthy Church that is Living and Sharing the Gospel, we need to reflect on how far we have come since 2019 when we started articulating this vision.

Over the past several weeks, our scripture readings have walked us through Israel’s wilderness journey after they crossed the Red Sea. God had promised to bring them into the land He swore to Abraham, yet for many the harshness of the Sinai desert became all they could see. They could not look beyond the desert sand to the promise, and that generation did not enter the land. But a faithful few, Joshua and Caleb among them, kept their eyes on God’s word. They saw the same desert and the same giants, yet they believed, and they crossed the Jordan into everything God had promised.

Our Vision 2027 and beyond is a form of our promised land. God is leading us there, and He is faithful to finish what He has started in us. The question for us is not whether God will bring His church into health and fruitfulness, but whether we will be among those who believe and join Him in it. Some of us may labour in the desert so that others can cross the Jordan, as Moses did, and that too is a holy calling. The promise is near, and it is worth every step.

God used the wilderness to free His people from a slave mentality and to form them into a free nation. In the same way, He is shaping us now. I invite each of us to ask honestly: what way of thinking might be holding us back from becoming the Healthy Church? Old habits, fear of change, or a small view of what God can do? Whatever it is, God is able to set us free from it.

My prayer this week is that God will search our hearts and minds, show us anything standing in the way, and fill us with fresh faith, renewed hope and overflowing love, so that we move forward with joy and confidence into the Healthy Church that is Living and Sharing the Gospel. Amen!
